@URS: I agree, I'd love to see animated OT stories. I'm not sure what George's obsession is for the Prequel-era stuff, but with 4 movies, 2 Clone Wars TV mini-series and 4 Clone Wars TV seasons, we've explored it way more than it needs to be explored. I'm not saying it's all bad, some of the more recent CW stuff has been really good. I just wish some of the resources devoted to CW would be siphoned off to OT properties.

I can see once CWs runs it's course, that they could take advantage of some of the great expanded stories that take place between and after the OT. That would net a whole roster of animated style OT characters. Man...I'd love to see that. They could just make movies out of a few of em.

@clark: I'd love to see classic OT characters in the Clone Wars animated style, but I'm not sure it will happen. I'd imagine there are marketing people in Hasbro who would say that the OT characters would cause confusion in the Clone Wars line. Kids might think that the OT characters will appear in CW, which won't happen for most of them; also, a figure like ESB Boba Fett would cause all sorts of havoc to kids accustomed to seeing the young Prequel-era Boba Fett.

I don't think all hope is lost, though. I can see some store picking up an exclusive boxed set, or maybe after CW runs its course we'll see animated OT characters. We'll see!

Expanding scockery's statement just a bit, I would like Hasbro would continue the Clone Wars figures by making popular characters that may not even appear in the show. I would love an animated Han, Luke, Vader, Stormtrooper and Lando. Having classic characters that could fit in with the rest of my CW figures would be fantastic

@scockery: The fur at his waist is pretty flexible. That, along with his waist joint, allows him to sit relatively well. He can almost fit in the POTF2 X-Wing, but the cockpit can't quite close because Chewie's too tall. I don't know if he can sit in any of the Falcon toys because I don't have any to test him out with, but if he can almost fit in the POTF2 X-Wing (which is just a remold of the vintage X-Wing), I think it's entirely possible.

I agree that Hasbro should continue making Clone Wars toys because it really seems like that show is the driving force (so to speak) behind Star Wars these days. I doubt TPM 3D will make a particularly big splash, and certainly not big enough to base an entire year's worth of toys on. Hasbro needs to milk Clone Wars as long as possible.

I haven't gotten Chewie because I heard he cannot sit, which disappoints me...maybe I want animated Chewbacca at the Falcon's controls.

There's not much planned for the Clone Wars toys next year, as Hasbro focuses on Episode 1's 3D release. According to Hasbro only 19 carded figures including reissues. Chewbacca is scheduled to reship on a new card. I think they are making a mistake.

The whole downside to the Clone Wars collecting is that you can't get your hopes up for seeing any t.v. show character that isn't a lead Jedi, a clone or a major baddie. For example, in the episode Chewbacca appears in, he tangles with some Trandoshans (like Bossk), but it's very unlikey those reptillian baddies will see figure form (that was more or less Hasbro's reply when asked!). I was hoping for Clone Wars Greedo, too.

One thing I like about the CW figures is that the tall characters are actually tall toys. In the old days, all 3-3/4" figures were roughly that size, regardless of how big they were in the movie. I still can't believe I found this Chewbacca in a supermarket, of all places, right next to Savage Opress! Oh, that was a GOOD day!

@URS: Yeah, if you don't get any clones, that makes things a lot less expensive. If I was going to collect the line, I think I'd stick to only OT characters, which I think would limit it to: Chewie, Threepio, Artoo, and Bossk (who only came in the Slave 1 set, I think). I might even pick up IG-86, if I'm feeling frisky.

@clark: Thanks! I agree with you and Bill in that I don't really watch the show but I still think the figures are pretty cool. I doubt I'll get many more figures from the line because I have a lot of other things to collect, but who knows?

I don't watch 'The Clone Wars' but I love the figures (which is weird because I have never liked other Star Wars figures). There is just something about the animated style, that is simple but not lacking in detail, that I just really love.

I was looking forward to this figure, but when I finally found him on the pegs, I didn't like the looks of him, so I passed. After reading this review and seeing his articulation, though, I'm gonna have to get him. IF I can ever find him again, that is.

For the record, I don't care for the Clone Wars show one bit, but the figures are great. They get better with each wave too!

I'm into the CW series a little. It isn't so bad really. I've managed to only buy pieces that really appeal to me in the line, and since half the figures are all clones, that makes it that much easier. Also avoid the bland alien figs, and I avoid anyone that doesn't have knee articulation. I may have like 10 or so CWs figs in my collection. Soon to add this Chewbacca if I can find one. :)
