That could be. It was certainly too long, and maybe shortening it would have forced Bay to remove some of the extraneous, goofy characters.

Unfortunately, I do admit that the movie is worth seeing in the theaters. I say "unfortunately" because it's a horrifically bad movie in almost every way, but the special effects are worth seeing on the big screen.

Regarding the "ineffectual and juvenile comic relief" that was my biggest gripe with the first one it seems like its written by fourteen year olds. I thought the first started out awesome but everytime they added plot I was just hoping for the next giant robot slugfest.

The spoiler at the end of the paragraph I qouted above is reason enough for me to wait until this movie
