Blade is a good example. 300 is another. So, this article probably applies most closely to the traditional superheroes.

And you mention the 2-hour time limit... I totally agree. They just can't refrain themselves from making "epic" movies. Whatever happened to the 90 minute movie? My bladder's only so big!

Yeah, I have to agree, almost all of the modern He...

Yeah, I have to agree, almost all of the modern Hero movies have followed the same formula. The only one that I can think of that kind of broke that mold was the Blade Series. He was always Blade, and always a BadArse Black Vampire hybrid dude with a sword.

I liked the first few Older Superman Movies because we got plenty of Superman action, and lets face it, Gene Hackman was the perfect Lex Luthor in my opinion.

I honestly didn't care much for either of the new Batman flicks, and thought Dark Knight was tediously drug out and boring 90% of the time. Too much talking in that movie, and hardly anything else. Endless politics and secondary villain focus. Dunno I could be wrong. I should probably try watching it again, but I was let down by it.

I thought the old Captain America movie was kind of fun though. Probably cause I was so young when I saw it. I find the older comic flicks don't get due love because instead of trying to bring the characters out of the comics and into reality, they tend to bring the comics to life, cornball lines and all. Can you imagine what a Fantastic Four Movie would have been like back in the 70's?

I do have high hopes for Watchmen myself. I've been trying to find the Graphic Novel at one of my libraries. It's been checked out for quite a while now.

The main problem I think there is with comic movies today, is writer director conflict. Writers try to needlessly capture as much recognizable character traits as possible in the movies, while Directors want as much needless action sequences, they can't seem to balance them out within the 2hour time limit they force on themselves. And no Network wants to devote the proper funds to perfect a weekly tv show.

Movies used to be so simple to watch....now it can be quite a chore.

....Is it me or am I like the only person who comments around here.
