Dork Dimension: Year Four

Here we are again! Today's the fourth anniversary of the Dork Dimension, so let's take a step back and see how the site has fared in the past year. Not much has changed in terms of design, with a few tweaks here and there to make my life easier. But let's get down to the meat of the matter: this year's most popular articles by page views!

Saturday Morning Cartoon Dream Team

This week's topic for the venerable members of the League is to create the ultimate Saturday Morning cartoon schedule! I feel especially qualified for this because as a kid, that's pretty much what I did on a yearly basis. When the TV Guide featuring the new Saturday morning schedule came out every year, I went through each time slot and highlighted the show I wanted to watch ahead of time. I had to be sure that my Saturday morning experience would be optimally awesome with no time wasted flipping channels.

Toy Pix: Hallmark Enterprise D Ornament, Then and Now

It's Christmas in August! I stopped by Hallmark recently and I was surprised to see this year's Christmas ornaments on the shelf, thereby confirming the fact that retailers want the Christmas season to start ever-sooner. Oh well, at least I get to appreciate the new Enterprise D ornament a few months early. The first ornamental version of this Enterprise hit in 1993... but has ornament-making technology progressed in the past 20 years? Let's take a look!

Toy Review: TMNT Classic Collection Donatello

It's a great time to be a Ninja Turtles fan. We have a new series coming out this fall along with awesome new figures to go with it. Not only that, but Playmates also saw fit to give us collector-friendly figures of the classic cartoon. As cool as they are, I hemmed and hawed about whether I should buy any of the Classic Collection Turtles. To be honest... the old-school cartoon just isn't my bag.

Toy Review: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2012 (Playmates)

When Peter Laird announced that he had sold the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles property to Nickelodeon, I was pretty trepidacious. What would happen to my beloved Turtles? But Peter, after he bought out Kevin Eastman's ownership rights, had a great run with the 200X cartoon and the Volume IV comics. It seemed like he finally explored everything he wanted to with the property, so I was eager to see what some new blood could do. And when I saw the new 2012 action figures from Playmates, I was excited about this new direction for the Turtles. Let's check them out!
