This comic ad shows Frogger, one of the greatest of the classic arcade games, on 8 different home gaming machines. I believe I used to play it on the Commodore 64 back in the day. It was a great translation, but from these screenshots, it looks like Colecovision and Atari both had better graphics.
Frogger was never one of my favorites, but I did log more than a few hours hopping that frog through traffic. The turtles were the #1 killer of my frogs. I'd get all the way to the top of the screen hopping along at a brisk pace, when I'd come upon a turtle starting to submerge. Overly-confident, I'd try to hop on the turtle to the log beyond, but the turtle would dip beneath the water and kill my frog. (Why water kills an amphibian, I'll never know.)
Here are a couple of cool Frogger related YouTube videos. The first one demos the original arcade game.
And this video is a commercial for Atari's Frogger. Cool animation!

5 out of 5 - Simply incredible!
4 out of 5 - Pretty awesome!
3 out of 5 - Cool enough, I suppose.
2 out of 5 - Not quite good enough.
1 out of 5 - Pretty horrific!
0 out of 5 - No redeeming quality at all.

Cool, I've seen this ad! It was before my time, but an old comic I bought last year has it. I've also seen it online in an article about the Video Game Crash, where it illustrates one of the problems that led to it.
I've actually never played "Frogger." It was a dozen years old by the time I got the chance, and it looked old hat. Of course now I love retro games, but I've never found a remake or emulation of "Frogger" I could run. Someday...
Lee, Frogger is a lot of fun. I had it on Atair, though I don't remember just which one.
