Movie Review: Street Fighter - The Legend of Chun Li

I haven't been particularly enthusiastic about this movie. I've tried to stay positive as images were leaked and trailers were released, but nothing I saw inspired confidence that this would be anything more than a SciFi Channel movie. But I totally blasted Transformers before it came out, and I ended up liking that movie (but only at first... that's a rant for another time). So how does Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li hold up?

Movie Review: My Name is Bruce

Bruce Campbell movies are kind of hit and miss for me. Of course I loved the Evil Dead trilogy. Bubba Ho-Tep was awesome too. But it seems that for every great, idiosyncratic Bruce Campbell movie, he does another that's horrifically bad. And not in a "so bad it's good" sort of way, either. I'm talking about you, Man With a Screaming Brain. So it's with a bit of trepidation that I popped in My Name is Bruce.

Toy Tribute: Jackie Chan by Dragon Models

I was a huge fan of Jackie Chan back in his prime. His movies had the best action and stunts of any in the world. (I have yet to see any action scene top the ladder fight in First Strike.) So I was ecstatic when this 12-inch scale Jackie Chan action figure from Dragon Models came out in 1999.

Toy Review: Skeleflex Skullkor

I noticed that Skeleflex figures are on clearance this week at TRU. Unfortunately I've been sleeping on this line. I haven't gotten any since my first purchase of the Spinosaurus. So I had a mini-panic attack when I saw them on clearance; it's looking like I'd better get the guys I want now while they're still at retail. My second Skeleflex purchase was this Skullkor. Spiney was an awesome figure so let's see how this guy measures up.

Fan Art: Batman, TMNT, Ms. Pac-Man line art

I wanted some interesting line art in the background of this site to give it some character. At first I used art that I got from the Internet, but I knew it would look more distinctive if I made the art myself. So here is the Sharpee art featuring Donatello and Batman that I made for the site background.

Toy Tribute: Star Trek 1701 Set by Playmates

When Star Trek: TNG was in its heyday, Playmates decided to increase the "collectibility" of its line by introducing chase figures: Tapestry Picard, Yesterday's Enterprise Tasha Yar, and Projections Barclay. They were limited to a production run of only 1,701 (like the Enterprise registry number, NCC-1701). Of course they were nearly impossible to find with such a low production number, and Playmates eventually released them in this set to try to appease collectors distraught over not being able to complete their collections.

Feb. Poll - The Best Fries, and Jan. Results

This month's poll tries to resolve the age-old debate: Which fast food joint has the best french fries? I tried to include all the major chains, but since I'm on the east coast, I apologize in advance if I forgot anything significant on the west coast.
