I've been holding off on jumping into Revoltechs Great looking action figures for a number of years now, but I've become very much more tempted lately to start collecting them. So I have to ask what your thoughts are on the quality, articulation, and joint strengths of the figures are. There are TONS of great looking Mechs that they have released over the years that have been taunting me endlessly.

Truthfully, I thought about doing a review, but other figures took precedence. This Gaiking is a pretty good quality figure, and there's lots of articulation. It also comes with a stand to help with some of the more dynamic poses.

The main problem is that the Revoltech joint is weird. It's not a standard ball-in-socket joint, but more of a rotating swivel joint. Here's a good picture explaining how it works. You can see that you rotate it on the x-axis, then rotate it on the y-axis to get your pose. It's pretty difficult to work with, especially with some of the smaller joints like in the neck. The plus side is that the joints are pretty solid, so when you work it into a pose it will stay.

In summary: they're very cool-looking figures, but posing them can be a chore and they're not what I would consider a fun toy to play with. That said, if you want one just for display, it will look pretty cool.

Hmmm, thanks, it kind of sounds like the odd thigh joints that the 3 3/4 Inch Wolverine figure line has. I guess all I can do is just pick one up that I think I will like and see how I like it. Most aren't exactly too expensive really.
