Read on for details:Sony Pictures Consumer Products and Mattel, Inc. announced today the development of a new collectible line of toys based on the world's favorite poltergeist fighting team, the Ghostbusters, including an extensive cast of ghosts and ghostbusters - celebrating the 25th anniversary of the frightfully funny classic film "Ghostbusters."

These figures are perfect! Almost. I could go ahead and categorize them under "better than we deserve" but I'll leave that distinction to Battlestar Galactica figures for now. I only have two reservations about this Ghostbusters line. First, it looks like the straps for the proton pack are sculpted on and not removable (an issue I had with the cartoon line long ago). Second (and this may be mute once we see the actual figures) I'm not sure if the proton gun (or positron collider) can hang from the proton pack. On the fully painted large figures there is nothing to hang it by. But I noticed that on the smaller 6" there is a peg on the side that could fit in a possible hole in the side of the gun. These are ridiculous nitpicks given that the sculpt and articulation are perfect!!
I see what you're saying, but if the straps were removable, they would also be thicker and look weird on the figure. I'm not too broken up about it because I would always display them with their proton packs on anyways.
I agree that being able to hang the proton gun on the pack would be really useful. Hopefully they can actually do that.
I wonder if they'll release a slimed Venkman variation? Or the Ghostbusters with marshmallow splatters?
