Although everyone counted Hygena out, it was actually Parthenon that got the boot this week! Despite his great planning in the box, I'd say his departure is deserved: he didn't let the kids participate at all when they took the quiz and he left a woman's cane on the other side of the road. Sloppy.
My wife commented that Stan axed Parthenon because he had a feeble answer regarding why he wanted to stay... he "wants to win this", but in a "different way" than the others? Wha..? I know he was on the spot, but you have to at least have an answer ready in case you get on the chopping block.
Another moment of sloppiness was Hyperstrike revealing his secret identity to the kids. Did he not watch last season?
Okay, next week has to be the week Hygena gets kicked off.
My Photoshop Tribute to Star Wars!
I've always been a big Star Wars fan, and my Star Wars collection ranks just behind MUSCLEs and Shogun Warriors in terms of nearness to my heart. I was inspired to see what Star Wars action figures and toys would look like in a "real" movie setting, so I put my Photoshop skills to work! After taking pictures of the toys, I photoshopped them into backgrounds. The toys were altered digitally, as I adjusted the lighting and added "special effects". Click on a thumb for a larger version. Enjoy!

Who Wants to Be a Superhero Week 5
Egads, my pick for the winner is gone! Whip-Snap unfortunately had to turn in her costume tonight. I can understand Stan's reasoning, though: she folded under pressure one too many times. But it was kind of a toss-up between her and Hygena, and Hygena will have to do a kick-butt performance next week if she wants to stay.
I thought Stan's reasoning behind putting Defuser on the stand was a bit of a stretch. He just wanted to give the kids a little souvenir, give him a break!
Hyperstrike's confession to Whip-Snap (in which he told her that he was one of those who said that she was the least heroic) was totally self-serving. He knew that Defuser got praises from Stan for doing the same thing, and I get the feeling he only confessed to get on Stan's good side.
And what was the deal with the CG spiders in the Tunnel of Fear? The one crawling on Defuser's back looked pretty CG, too.
Anyway, the competition's pretty much up in the air between Hyperstrike, Parthenon, and Defuser! Parthenon's my favorite right now, but next week might change everything.

Who Wants to Be a Superhero Week 4
Well, Basura took a nose dive this week. But that challenge (helping the woman find her kid) was so transparent that she deserves to get the boot for not seeing through it.
Whip-Snap started to fold under pressure with a little melt-down after the lair had been ransacked. But she pulled herself together, and had a nice tear-filled diatribe with Stan that overstated the importance of this competition, so she's probably still in the top three. Defuser, on the other hand, continues his downward spiral by alienating the rest of the team with his alpha-male abrasive attitude.
What was up with those comic covers? Hygena was represented as a supermodel and Parthenon as a body builder... talk about embellishing the heroes.

Who Wants to Be a Superhero Week 3
Sadly, Mr. Mitzvah had to turn in his costume last night. It's understandable, though. The guy was derided last week for not overcoming his fears and did the exact same thing this week. Ms. Limelight also got kicked off, which considering her continuous buckling under pressure, isn't surprising either.
Worst performance of the week by a person not kicked off: Defuser. He totally jumped to conclusions with the fake mole idea (as did I) and started accusing Mitzvah in a McCarthy-style trial. Strike one, Defuser.
Best performances of the week: Parthenon, for not participating in the trial, and Hygena, for not falling for the fake mole game. Excelsior!

Who Wants to Be a Superhero Week 2
Well, it seems Mindset didn't fare too well this week. That's unfortunate since he was one of the more interesting characters (and definitely had the coolest costume). But I knew his ego would get the better of him and I was just waiting for him to be cut down to size. His mini temper tantrum at the end was great... he reminded me very much of the Simpsons Comic Book Guy.
My favorite so far: Mr. Mitzvah. There's no way this guy's going to win, but he's hilarious!
My pick for the winner: Whip-Snap. She has a great back story and just seems to have all the right answers for Stan. Also, she cries a lot, which Stan seems to love.
Next week, the mole will be revealed! I'm calling Basura as the mole. She's just too suspicious: everyone else looks like normal shmoes, but she looks like an actress/model. Even her performance regarding the old lady last week was a little suspicious. We'll find out for sure next week!
